OUR STORY

Temple St. Clair was founded in Florence, Italy in the mid-1980’s. It was there that our founder, Temple St. Clair Carr began a lifelong collaboration with the world’s finest artigiani – the centuries-old Florentine goldsmiths’ guild. Temple fell in love with the history of jewelry and gold. This passion led her to create jewels and design elements that reflect the traditions of human adornment and universal storytelling. Working with a classic Italian yellow gold, St. Clair partnered with artisans in Florence to translate ancient techniques into meaningful jewels that would stand the test of time. A distinctive vision and aesthetic language were born.

The Temple Hallmark

1986

Following the tradition of fine metal work, our hallmark is established early on. A temple, a play on the designer’s name and a nod to the classical foundation of the brand, marks all of our jewels. A whimsical hand-drawn version is found in our packaging and print work.

Our Angels

1996

Temple St. Clair jewelry touches people individually on a personal level lending it to be treasured, collected, and handed down. When the founder’s sons were born, she bought angel pendants for herself in Florence and had her sons’ names engraved on each one. Spotted wearing her angels, an immediate desire emerged so Temple made them available to her collectors. The angel coins are minted in Florence and are set in our signature settings. Engraving is included.
